LAUSANNE, Switzerland – SportAccord is delighted to confirm its inaugural regional event for Pan America will showcase the dynamic sport hosting destination of Fort Lauderdale alongside key events taking place in Florida during a press conference tomorrow. This will take place in the Atrium Lobby, Greater Fort Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center, on Tuesday 19 March 2019, 11.30 – 13.00 (EDT).
Regional SportAccord Pan America brings together international sports federations and organisations involved in the business of sport who can register and take part in #RSA2019. It is the only networking and conference event to bring the Pan American, Olympic and International Sports Federation community together in one location, and promises to be a memorable occasion for everyone.
The opening event and gathering for the Regional SportAccord Pan America will take place from 10 – 12 December 2019 at the Fort Lauderdale Convention Center in Florida, and is expecting 500 plus attendees from around 400 organisations.
Florida is recognised as a top destination and training ground for international athletes due to its special year-round environment for sports.
Nis Hatt, Managing Director, SportAccord commented:
“We selected Greater Fort Lauderdale to host the first Regional SportAccord for the Pan America region because it has many of the attributes we look for in a host city.
“We also know there is a definitive need for a ‘regional’ sports business event that brings together representatives from the sports community in one location.
“Regional SportAccord provides the platform for key stakeholders at regional and national levels to become more actively involved. In some cases, it also provides access for those who may not have had the opportunity to attend our annual international event.
“Bringing international sports federations into the mix also makes for a very exciting and unique event.
“Regional SportAccord serves the needs of the Pan America sporting community.”
The Panam Sports Best Practices Seminar & Gala will follow on 13 December, and will recognise top athletes from the Pan American Games and Parapan Games 2019 in Lima.
The press conference taking place on 19 March 2019 will also share details of the 28th Annual Florida Senior Games 2019 to be held 7 – 15 December with local qualifiers already underway. Specifics for the National Senior Games of the America Greater Fort Lauderdale 2021 will also be announced.
Other organisations and representatives involved in the press conference include: Marc T. Riker, NSGA; Mark Grogan, Mayor of Broward County; José Rodriguez of the Local Organising Committee; Angela Suggs, Florida Sports Foundation; Humana; and Stacy Ritter from Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
