Yutang Sports mourns passing of FIBA Secretary General, GAISF and SportAccord President, Patrick Baumann

With the greatest of sadness, Yutang Sports has learned of the death of Mr Patrick Baumann, the Secretary General of FIBA, an International Olympic Committee member and the President of GAISF and SportAccord. 

Mr Patrick Baumann has been a great leader in the world of basketball, a great friend of the Chinese basketball world and a great leader in the world of sports. 

During his career as the Secretary General of FIBA, he has made significant contributions to the development of basketball around the world and in the exchanges and collaborations between Chinese basketball and the international basketball world. Under his leadership, GAISF and SportAccord are carrying out innovative changes and evolution and achieving apparent and steady successes.

Yutang Sports has been honored to have interviewed Mr Patrick Baumann several times and have listened to his speeches at SportAccord, FIBA World Basketball Summit and other occasions in the past few years. We still remember very well his amiable and comfortable manner, his sharp thoughts and mind, his deep love for the basketball career, his trustworthy leadership style and his hard work and commitments to the development of sports and sports organizations. We also benefited from the exchanges and collaborations between Chinese and international basketball that Mr Patrick Baumann has contributed to.
