Italian sportswear brand FILA announced yesterday, June 11, that they had signed up young Chinese singer/actor WANG Yuan (Roy Wang) as their brand ambassador.
FILA says that this move signals “the hope to inject fresh energy into the brand but also shows FILA’s new attempts and ambitions in the young consumer market.”
Wang Yuan is a member of the popular Chinese boy group TFBOYS that were first brought together by the Beijing agency, Time Fengjun Entertainment, in 2013.
According to FILA’s press release, Wang Yuan’s most important characteristic that attracted FILA is the fact that he constantly tries to make breakthroughs. He has taken part in singing and variety shows and was appointed by the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund as a Special Advocate for Education.
Wang Yuan has been very successful in the number of endorsement deals signed including the brands FILA, L’OREAL, H&M, QQ Reading, Hewlett-Packard, Oero, Yangyuan (Six Walnuts), QQ Super Member and Chopard.
Anta has the right to manage FILA brand in Greater China.
