01 Nov 2024 16:40
At a press conference hosted in Beijing, NetEase Media Group released its reporting strategy for the 2018 World Cup. As part of this strategy, NetEase Media have signed a partnership agreement with the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB) or German Football Association, following a similar partnership formed with the French Football Federation at the end of 2017.
In fact, it is not the first time NetEase Media have formed partnerships for the FIFA World Cup. During the 2014 World Cup, the Chinese internet-based media group acted as the exclusive media partner to both the Brazilian and Spanish national football teams.
In their new partnership with the DFB, NetEase Media have been endorsed with the exclusive rights to the use of the collective images of the German national football team. The exclusive rights acquired by NetEase Media include making videos and conducting interviews with the team during the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
To create more high-quality content, NetEase Media will send a 100-member team to report firsthand on the 2018 World Cup. Subsidiary channels of NetEase Media will also join the reporting mission, including its Technology, Entertainment, Fashion and Finance Channels.
More details of the NetEase 2018 World Cup reporting strategy were also disclosed at the press conference. NetEase introduced that they will produce two original programs during the 2018 World Cup, one for popular football stars, coaches and legends and the other focusing on the German national football team.
To engage more Chinese football fans, NetEase will also launch some HTML5 games and other interactive campaigns for them during the tournament.
