November 24: Great Stone Gridiron (GSG Sports), a Beijing-headquartered company focusing on American football training for children, has announced that they had raised over RMB10 million in their A+ financing round in which Huayi Sports acted as the leading investor.
Reportedly, GSG Sports will leverage this fund to develop American football training programs for children from the age of 3 and their families. Overseas American football training programmes will also be introduced by the organization and delivered to teenagers in China.
The leading investor in this round, Huayi Sports, is a joint venture company set up by Huayi Brothers Media and two other companies. By investing in GSG Sports, Huayi Sports has captured the rights to implement GSG Sports training programs into Huayi Towns, which will help GSG Sports expand their business and pave the way to organizing a nationwide American football league in the future.
Founded in 2012, GSG Sports has opened 10 training centers in China and currently offers American football training programs to children aged between 3 and 12. Reportedly, the number of trainees attached to all GSG Sports training centers has reached 5,000 members.
