Hong Kong, 20th November, 2017 LaLiga, the top professional association of the Spanish football league held its first football event for public at the Hysan Place in Causeway today, with Olympic Champion of Badminton Carolina Marin as part of its on-going effort to boost the visibility and profile of Spanish sports around the world. Apart from Carolina, former LaLiga Spanish player Roberto “Chino” Losada and Hong Kong Women National Team player Fu Chiu Man are also invited to share knowledge and skills to a group of local junior players in a football clinic and engagement with fans and public.
LaLiga is not only recognized in the world as the best football competition but also an important organization promoting football. Both LaLiga and Carolina Marin are two outstanding ambassadors of the Brand Spain. Additionally, LaLiga always committed to promote fair competition and completely reject violence. Meanwhile, it promotes the women’s game which purposed to extend the value of respect and transparency among the competitions in the future.
With the mission to raise the profile of Spanish sport and enhance the popularity of LaLiga around the world, Iván Gómez, International Communications Manager for Asia, LaLiga in Spain revealed the brand’s strategies and expansion plan in Hong Kong. “Over the years, LaLiga has been increasingly noticed globally and experience exponential growth in terms of both performance and quality delivery to the audience around the world,” he said. “Football is so popular in Hong Kong and the goal of LaLiga is to continue growing in a market like this. We must ensure that the number of followers continues to grow and consolidate us as the world's leading football league. Seeing this potential, we consider Hong Kong as a crucial market for LaLiga.”
As part of LaLiga’ s effort to boost the visibility and profile of Spanish sports, Carolina Marin will be waving flags for Spanish sports in countries all over the world. Carolina Marin has always publicly acknowledged that she is a great soccer fan. Today, Carolina shared her excitement to meet Hong Kong junior players and fans as the ambassador. “I am very excited to visit Hong Kong again as LaLiga ambassador as there is full of passionate and talent in football,” Carolina added.
Carolina Marin won her first Olympics gold medal at Rio de Janeiro in 2016, She will also be participating in the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2017, which is scheduled on November 21-26 at Hong Kong Coliseum.
"Caroline Marin won numerous world-known competitions award and awakens the passion around the world. Named as Spanish sportswomen, Caroline Marin and LaLiga are committed to promote Spanish sports spirit. We should walk around the world the name of Spain together.” Iván Gómez said.
LaLiga aims on promoting the values of teamwork, hard work, leadership, reliability, responsibility and respect, helping other sports and athletes through their respective federations. “Our desire is for the sport-viewing experience to be a unique one, which enables fans to enjoy maximum coverage,” he added.
During the event, Carolina Marin joint the former LaLiga football player Roberto “Chino” Losada and Hong Kong National Woman Team player Fu Chiu Man to coach the local junior youth players from G.T. (Ellen Yeung) College with invaluable advice and football technic. Both talented players and Carolina also cheered up the fans participating at the Goal Kick Challenge which brought the event to the climax.
