November 19: The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has launched a coaching education program with Guangzhou Evergrande Football Club, engaging the professional players of both Guangzhou Evergrande and Guangzhou R&F.
In this program, these players will receive courses covering training principles, as well as strategies and skills for football games. Trainees will also have the opportunity to practice what they learned in the classroom.
This program is part of a project in supporting professional football players to become coaches after they retire from their professional playing careers. This project will encompass the 48 professional football clubs in the Chinese Super League, China League, China Women’s Super League and the second tier women’s football league in China.
However, because of the players’ schedules for matches and daily training, they might be unable to go on long-term courses so as a result, the association will set up classrooms in the clubs and pave the way for these players to undertake the program.
Prior to the Guangzhou Evergrande program, the program has already taken place in football clubs such as Beijing Guoan, Beijing Renhe, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan and Dalian Quanjian Women’s Football Club. In the future, clubs in Jiangsu Province, Shangdong Province, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Chengdu and Shanghai will welcome this program into their clubs.
