Chinese sports and wellness service provider Codoon has become the online cycling partner of the UCI WorldTour Series Gree - Tour of Guangxi.
Under the terms of their agreement, Codoon is planning to hold an online cycling campaign, which will allow cycling fans to “punch the clock” along with the tour. David Yang, CEO of Wanda Sports China, said he was impressed by the digital marketing strategy adopted by Codoon, and believed that it will engage more participants in professional cycling.
The six-day tour, expected to kick off on October 19 in Guangxi, will see cyclists start from the coastal cities of Beihai and Qinzhou, then head north to Nanning, Liuzhou and finally arrive in Guilin.
The race has attracted 126 world top professional cyclists and 18 professional teams including Team Sky, Movistar and BMC Racing. According to Xinhua, a women's cycling tour of Guangxi will also take place at the same time and a UCI Cycling Gala will be held in Guilin on October 24.
