SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

July 11: The Chinese Football Association (CFA) released a report presenting the agent fees of the Chinese Super League’s (CSL) players. The report shows the amount of money received by the CSL players’ agents during the 2016-17 season.
This report shows some clubs have spent more money on overseas players. When signing Ramires Santos do Nascimento, Jiangsu Suning paid his agent €2.36m. Shanghai SIPG also spent €1.59m on Givanildo Vieira de Souza’s transfer. The Brazilian football player Carlos Gilberto Nascimento Silva costed Shandong Luneng €1.5m in agent fee. However, Shandong Luneng only paid Papiss Demba Cissé’s agent €3. Finally, Shanghai Shenhua paid no agent fee for the transfer of Argentine football star Carlos Tévez.
