According to news from the BWF website, on March 18 the BWF (Badminton World Federation) will be in Kuala Lumpur announcing four host cities for four major badminton events over the next two years. Two Chinese cities are in contention. Nanjing is the only bidding city for the 2018 BWF Championships while Nanning is the only bidding city for the 2019 Sudirman Cup. As is customary, the two Chinese cities will win the bids for those two events.
The 2017 Sudirman Cup is to be held on Australia’s Gold Coast from May 21st to May 28th. The 2017 BWF World Championships will be held in Glasgow, Scotland from August 21st to August 27th.
Basel, Switzerland and Tokyo, Japan will bid for the 2019 BWF World Championships while Bangkok, Thailand and New Delhi, India will bid for the 2018 Thomas & Uber Cup.
