On Feb. 20, Imagine China obtained the image rights to the CSL for the next 3 years with a sponsorship fee of RMB 50 million, and it will work with CSL Ltd. to build the “eastern image feast” of the CSL.
The image rights were up to now the last free section of the CSL’s core resources. With Imagine China getting the image rights for the next 3 years at a price of around RMB 18 million per year, there are no more free lunches in the CSL’s core resource pool.
Another enterprise, which previously had the image rights for free, did offer RMB 8 million per year in the hope of continuing its cooperation with CSL. However, Imagine China simply doubled the offer and took the chance away from its competitor.
Starting from the 2017 season, the rights holder of CSL images will provide images with various dimensions, and combine the images to better reflect specific incidents on and off the field of play. The aim is to make CSL images more vivid and powerful.
