4 Chinese universities in ARWU TOP300

On December 8th, the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) issued the 2016 academic ranking of global sport departments and schools, which is the first ranking of specialized departments issued by this international ranking system of higher education. America tops the list with 64 sports universities, becoming the strongest country in sports science and technology across the world. Loughborough University(England) and Deakin University occupied the first and second places, followed by University of South Carolina, which is TOP1 in America.  

4 Chinese universities are on the list: Shanghai University of Sport and Tianjin University of Sport rank between 101-105, while Beijing Sport University and Sports Medicine Institute of Peking University rank between 201-300. 8 universities in Hongkong and Taiwan are included in the list, among which there are 5 Taiwan universities. The best of these are Sports Science & Physical Education of The Chinese University of Hongkong and National Taiwan Sport University, both of which are listed between 101 and 150.

For a long time, the comparisons between junior colleges of sports, arts and music have usually been made between colleges in the same categories. This ranking has evaluated, in accordance with the same standards, global Sports Colleges and Universities complete with Sports Departments, by objective indexes and data from third parties. The Sports Departments of 300 Universities from 37 countries have been included in the list, among which there are only 15 Sports Colleges. The Sports Departments of Universities in the TOP300 include Sports Departments, Sports Schools, Schools of Sport and Physical Education, Health and Sports Science Departments, Sports Science Colleges and Health and Sports Science Colleges.
