Future of Sport: A Global Sports Week x Viva Technology Collaboration, Will Open in June 14

On October 31th, the General Administration of Sports of China(GASC) held a staff conference, to announce the appointment of a new Director. Gou Zhongwen, the former Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Committee, was appointed Director of GASC , replacing the outgoing Liu Peng.
Gou Zhongwen began his working career in March, 1974 and joined the Communist Party of China in April, 1976. He holds a PhD in Administration. His previous roles have included Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee, Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Committee, President of Beijing Municipal CPC Committee Party School, President of Beijing Administrative College, and President of The People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Liu Peng served as Director of the GASC since December, 2004, and was in charge for three editions of the Olympic Games.
