Premier League giants Arsenal FC announced that they have reached a partnership with Total Soccer, a high-profile TV football programme on China’s CCTV5.
According to www.arsenal.com, CCTV 5 will be able to access exclusive content from the Gunners, including player interviews and videos.
Jiang Heping, head of CCTV sport, said: “The EPL is the most popular football league in China. President Xi mentioned during his state visit to the UK that Arsenal have a massive following in China. I believe this agreement will help the development of football in China as it will provide a strong addition to our coverage.”
Speaking about the co-operation, Arsenal’s Chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkatesham said: “Total Soccer is playing an important role in the rapid growth of interest in football, the Premier League and Arsenal. We have many passionate Arsenal fans in China and this exclusive arrangement with the Premier League club will bring them closer to Arsenal and help attract many more fans to follow us.”
Total Soccer, which runs every Monday evening in China, is a leading football show on CCTV’s Sports Channel.
