China yesterday (Dec. 15) officially unveiled the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games at the Great Hall of the People.
Beijing 2022 President Guo Jinlong, also the secretary of Beijing’s municipal party committee, said the organizers will work out the overall planning after carefully reading the Host City Contract (HCC).
The Beijing Organizing Committee will also help speed up the construction of the relevant venues and supporting facilities, promising the construction tasks to be completed by 2019. As revealed, at the appropriate time, a market development plan will be released, in which Beijing 2022 will detail the various ways in which it will finance the games.
According to Xinhua, IOC President Thomas Bach has sent a congratulatory letter to the organizing committee, saying "Beijing is making history as the first city in the world to host both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games."
