SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je hoped that NT$2 billion or about US$ 61.2 million would be obtained from local and international sponsors for the 2017 Summer Universiade at an official news press on November 6th.
According to Chinatimes, the event has a budget of about NT$17.3 billion (US$528.57 million), of which the city government hopes to obtain NT$2 billion from sponsors, who will have access to the event’s promotional tools, including a logo, mascot and slogan.Top sponsors will have the right to develop special Universiade merchandise and market them during the Games.
As is reported, the two-week event is scheduled to launch in August 2017,which is expected to sell up to 780,000 tickets, also attracting 150,000 tourists. Ko said that this international sports event would create a win-win situation that helps boost the nation’s and local enterprises’ profiles in the international community.
