PPTV Sports, a renowned online sports streaming platform based in Shanghai, has reportedly secured a 3-year deal for the rights to live broadcast the UEFA Champions League, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup within China.
Under the deal, PPTV Sports will screen live matches from the three top European football competitions via its various channels from 2015/2016 until 2017/2018 season which will include 145 UEFA Champions League matches alongside 205 Europa League matches and 1 UEFA Super Cup match each season.
The online streamer has joined other heavyweights such as Letv Sports, Sina Sports and Tencent Sports to present top European football among Chinese audience.
In an effort to engage the fans, the broadcaster has enriched the commentary team with former CCTV 5 commentator Shen Fangjian, former Chinese international Liu Yue and senior football journalist Sun Lei.
Earlier last month, PPTV Sports exclusively sealed the broadcast deals with both La Liga and Dutch Eredivisie.
