Sports management consulting firm TSE Consulting has unveiled plans to establish a permanent base in China after helping the country secure the hosting rights to 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
Following meetings on Friday in Tokyo, Japan, the Fiba Central Board confirmed China as host for the tournament as it edged out competition from the Philippines.
Having advised and supported China throughout the bidding process, TSE has now announced plans to establish a greater presence in the country in order to better serve its clients.
Lars Haue-Pedersen, managing director of TSE, said: “While our bidding services generally are delivered only to our existing group of client cities, the Basketball World Cup project in China was delivered to eight Chinese cities with whom we have not worked before.
“The very positive experience of working with our Chinese clients combined with the high level network we now have in cities across China, has given us the last incentive to progress with our plans of the permanent TSE presence in the country.”
China’s plans for the Fiba World Cup outline that the event will be held in more host cities than ever before. Beijing, Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan and Dongguan are all set to host games.
TSE Consulting is an international consulting firm specialized in sport, which is based in the ‘Olympic Capital’ (Lausanne, Switzerland) with regional offices in Europe, North – and South America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia. The company has recently helped the United Arab Emirates secure the hosting rights to the International Aquatics Federation’s 2020 Swimming World Championships.
