The revamped hit TV program Auto Times on the CCTV-5 channel, featuring motor-racing news and events, is expected to draw more viewers with a new segment and high-tech programming.
The program, which premiered in 2004, will now offer the “Raging Zone” segment, which presents close-up and in-depth coverage of international and domestic auto racing events including the World Rally Championship and World Touring Car Championship, as well as auto industry updates, to feed the growing demand of car-racing fans, producers announced in Beijing on Thursday.
Cutting-edge 3D virtual broadcasting technology will also be introduced in the program to provide audiences with a more vivid viewing experience and all-round understanding of auto racing, said Cheng Siran, chief producer of Auto Times.
The optimized weekly program will premiere at 18:35 on Nov 12.
CCTV Sports & Entertainment Co Ltd and Beijing Haofengfeiyang Media & Advertising Co Ltd, co-producer and promoter of the program, are confident that the new-look Auto Times will help raise motor-racing culture to a new level in China.
