The NBA joins a coalition of stakeholders from across the global sports ecosystem who are helping to shape the agenda for this year’s edition of the annual gathering of leaders and changemakers from the worlds of sport, business and society.
Other Proud Supporters of Global Sports Week include UNESCO, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), UN Women, World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry (WFSGI), International Basketball Federation (FIBA), International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), Badminton World Federation (BWF) and European Professional Club Rugby (EPCR).
Global Sports Week is returning from February 1st to 5th with a new format mixing digital and physical experiences in six future Olympic host cities – Paris, Tokyo, Beijing, Milan, Dakar and Los Angeles, all linked through an iconic studio at the heart of the Eiffel Tower.
The NBA’s Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer Mark Tatum will be among the top speakers in the GSWArena, joining alongside Andrew Parsons, International Paralympic Committee President, and Karina LeBlanc, Head of Women’s Football at CONCACAF to discuss sport as a catalyst for social justice.
Over in Dakar, Amadou Gallo Fall, President of the NBA’s new Basketball Africa League, will set out his vision in a session forming part of a live broadcast from the Global Sports Week Dakar hub event.
The NBA said: “The NBA is thrilled to be taking part in the Global Sports Week and as a ‘Proud Supporter’ of the event, we look forward to five days of meaningful conversation and engagement across a range of topics.”
