August 19, 2020. The one-year countdown activities to the 31st World Universiade and the opening ceremony of the 14th Sports Games of Chengdu were successfully held on August 18. In the meantime, the contract-signing ceremony was held in Chengdu as well, where the China Media Group (CMG) has reached strategic partnership with the 31st World Universiade on television propaganda.
Competitions from 18 categories, including athletics, gymnastics, fencing, judo, taekwondo, Wushu, basketball, volleyball, tennis, badminton, table tennis, rhythmic gymnastics, shooting, archery, rowing, water polo, diving, and swimming, would be played during the 31st World Universiade in Chengdu. After the signing ceremony, the CMG and its owned radio, television and New Media platform would conduct deep and comprehensive report and spread the news of the Universiade, with special attention to the development of Sichuan Province in economy, society, culture and tourism. The innovative actions that have revitalized Sichuan area would be unveiled to public, so that teenagers worldwide, during the event, would perceive the long history, booming economy, luxuriant tourism resources, as well as friendly natives in the city of Chengdu.
After reaching strategic partnership with the CMG, the Executive Committee of Wourld Universiade would continue to demonstrate the multi-dimensional image of China and accelerate the process of shaping Chengdu as the leading sports city of the world.
