The southwestern Chinese city of Chongqing will host the China-Russia Youth Games 2021.
The Games will consist of eight disciplines, including cycling, taekwondo, swimming, rhythmic gymnastics, hand ball (women), football, beach volleyball and badminton.
The event is part of the efforts between China and Russia to develop people-to-people exchanges with each country taking its turn to host the Games. The event was launched in 2006.
The 8th China-Russia Youth Games were held in Samara, Russia, from June 15 to 22 with China sending a delegation of 213 athletes and staffs.
A leader from the Chongqing Sports Bureau said that the event would help the youth from both countries to learn from each other and raise their sports level as a whole.
