The organizing committee of the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games have announced that Chinese telecommunications giants China Telecom and China Mobile have jointly become the official telecommunication services partners of the most prestigious sports event in Asia.
It is not common for two industry giants to work together to provide telecommunication services for an international sports event, and this cooperation will only make the 19th Asian Games more exciting.
“Hangzhou Asian Games will be held at a time when the world moves from 4G to 5G telecommunication standards. We feel it is our responsibility to help the organizing committee of the Hangzhou Asian Games to present to Asia and the whole world a sports spectacle that will be remembered for its all-around usage of smart technology,” said Chen Hua, the vice general manager of the China Telecom Zhejiang branch.
Chen Hongtao, the vice general manager of the China Mobile Zhejiang branch said, “We will make use of 5G technologies, and integrate newer information technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Internet of Things, Cloud computing, Big Data, and edge computing with the Asian Games. We aim to provide all sorts of smart services in communications, game broadcasting, transportation, security and many other areas, making the Hangzhou Asian Games a high-tech empowered top sports event.”
Even though the Asian Games are still three years away, the two telecommunications giants have already begun preparing for the event.
