On July 11, English Premier League club Manchester City announced they had renewed their collaboration with Tecno, a China-based mobile phone manufacturer.
The partnership began in 2016, with TECNO sponsoring Manchester City as their Official Global Tablet and Handset Partner.
To activate the renewed partnership, TECNO has launched the Tecno Race to Manchester City, which is a virtual race for Indian users encouraging them to take at least 10,000 steps a day.
“TECNO have consistently demonstrated their love of football, creating some unique experiences for fans and this is evidenced with more than 40,000 people signing up to the TECNO Race to Manchester City. This country-specific initiative is a fantastic example of two partners working together and we’re delighted to be continuing this successful partnership,” said Willoughby, Damian Willoughby, Senior Vice President of Partnerships at City Football Group.
TECNO is subsidiary of Transsion Holdings, a manufacturer of mobile phones based in Shenzhen, China. Though a Chinese brand, it does not sell phones within mainland China, but sells to African countries, Indonesia, India and Russia. TECNO phones are priced at $56 to $200 in its African market.
