On June 26, a press conference was held at the Bird’s Nest detailing the market development campaign for the 31st Summer Universiade which will be held in Chengdu, China, in 2021. The Chengdu 2021 Universiade Committee officially sent out their invitations to potential partners worldwide.
During the press conference, the Chengdu 2021 Universiade announced that they had already signed their first sponsor, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC), making ICBC a tier one official partner of the Chengdu 2021 Universiade. Negotiations between the two parties took less than two months before they reached an agreement.
The market development plan for the Chengdu 2021 Universiade consists of three subplans centered around the main theme: market operations. Specifically, the three subplans include sponsorship plans, franchising plans and ticket plans.Through this design, Chengdu aims to bring more participation from companies in the Universiade and share development opportunities.
Key points to take away from the press conference are that the organizing committee has a detailed plan for its market development, and partners of the Universiade will enjoy an assortment of rights and privileges.
The Chengdu 2021 Universiade distinguishes itself from other similar sports events in that it has a special market operations plan that covers market development organizations and marketing teams, thereby achieving maximum integration of promotional and marketing resources, resulting in a win-win for both the Universiade and its partners.
Hundreds of events will be organized during the preparation and execution phases of the Universiade spanning sports, music, film and television industry, entertainment, services and retail. Through the Universiade, companies will be able to strengthen their positive image internationally by producing rich content, remarkable experiences and innovative events.
