PP Sports announced today that they have obtained exclusive full-media rights to the FA Cup in Mainland China and Macao from 2018 to 2024.
This Saturday (Jan. 5), PP Sports will start to broadcast the FA Cup on its various channels such as PC, mobile applications and OTT platform.
Prior to these new media rights, PP Sports obtained three-year exclusive full media rights to the 2019-2022 English Premier League in Mainland China and Macao. With the addition of this new portfolio, PP Sports will be able to offer the highest level of English football to Chinese audiences.
Existing users of PP Sports, such as the premier sports package users, European football pass users, Premier League pass and Premier League team pass users will be able to get free access to relevant FA Cup broadcast packages while their user status are valid.
Audiences can also choose to purchase individual games and packages of the FA Cup.
It is said that Chinese fans of the Premier League account for one sixth of the league’s 1.2 billion fans around the world, making China one of the largest overseas markets of the EPL.
PP Sports will also have more communications and exchanges with the signal producer of Premier League in the future.
PP Sports now have media rights to most of the top football properties, such as the Premier League, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A, AFC Champions League, UEFA Champions League and the Chinese Super League.
They are looking to offer more diversified services and products to users in addition to match broadcasts.
