Chinese Super League team, Jiangsu Suning Football Club have signed a new main sponsor, the Korean electronics brand Samsung, for three seasons (2019-2021) at a signing ceremony yesterday (December 6).

Under the partnership, Samsung will have its Chinese and English logo printed on the front and back of the team’s shirt in CSL games. Jiangsu Suning revealed their new home (blue) and away (yellow) shirts imprinted with the Samsung logo at the ceremony.
Suning, the holding group of Jiangsu Suning FC, have long been in collaboration with Samsung in Suning’s retail business. Sun Weimin, Vice Chairman of Suning.com and Vice President of Suning Holdings Group, says that under this new partnership, Suning will upgrade collaboration with Samsung in all online and offline channels and keep close collaborations with Samsung for brand communication, market exploitation, fan engagement and marketing around trending topics.
It is understood that Samsung want to improve the sales performance of its mobile phones in the Chinese market after some unsatisfactory results in China.
Previously in 2017, Samsung collaborated with Internazionale Milano, the Serie A football club which is also owned by Suning, to launch a customized Internazionale Milano mobile phone Galaxy S8+. They also have partnerships with other football properties in the world such as the Brazil Football Association and LaLiga.
Jiangsu Suning FC ranked 5th in the 2018 CSL season which ended on November 11.
