The Badminton World Federation yesterday in Kuala Lumpur, announced the hosts of 18 BWF events over the next seven years. Of the 18 BWF events, China will host four tournaments.
Currently, the names of the Chinese host cities have not been revealed, but the results will be revealed soon with China to host the following events:
2021 BWF Sudirman Cup
2021 BWF World Junior Championships
2024 BWF Thomas & Uber Cup
2025 BWF Sudirman Cup
As disclosed by the BWF, it is an historical moment and an important decision for them to award the hosting rights of the 18 major BWF events together. It is aimed at bringing badminton events to the parts of the world that have not previously hosted BWF events, developing the sport around the world and working with the host cities for the long term.
In 2018 and 2019, there have already been some major BWF events hosted or to be hosted in China. The 2018 BWF World Championships was held in Nanjing, China and the 2019 Sudirman Cup will be held in Nanning, China. The BWF World Tour Finals will be held in Guangzhou, China, for four years from 2018 to 2021, with the first edition taking place in Guangzhou from December 12-16, 2018.
