WCBA announces new partner BBMG Group and expands to 18 teams

The Chinese Women’s Basketball Association today (October 15) announced a new strategic partner, BBMG Group and a few other changes at its 2018-2019 season press conference in Beijing. 

BBMG Group has become the Official Strategic Partner of WCBA and will help the WCBA develop towards a world-leading women’s basketball league. BBMG Group is a state-owned corporation headquartered in Beijing, with businesses in construction materials, real estate, logistics and others. BBMG has been a title sponsor of the Beijing Basketball Team for ten years. 

In the new season, WCBA has also expanded to 18 teams from the previous 14 teams, becoming the biggest professional women’s basketball league in the world. The newly added teams are from Henan Province, Tianjin, Hubei Province, Hebei Province and Fujian Province respectively. 

Peak Sports, the official exclusive kit partner of the WCBA has provided a newly designed series of competition clothing for the teams. 

In regard to media broadcasts, TV stations including CCTV and local TV stations, as well as 12 online media platforms will broadcast WCBA’s games. These online media platforms are Sina Sports, Jinri Toutiao, Douyin, NetEase, Hupu, Weibo Yunjian, zhibo.tv, Sohu Sports, Youku Sports, Fengxing, iQiyi and Lanqiuke. Each of these online platforms will broadcast no less than 30 regular season games. WCBA will also continue to work with other digital media beyond those mentioned. All these efforts are aimed at increasing the coverage of WCBA games.
