Chinese eSports streaming platform Huya.com has become the exclusive gaming streaming platform for the 2018/2019 WESG (World Electronic Sports Games) season in mainland China. The platform will stream the entire season of WESG in the Chinese language.
Besides streaming the games, Huya.com will also be entitled to organize its own online qualifying games for WESG. Players can register to compete through Huya at events.wesg.com to qualify for WESG. The total prize money for Huya’s online qualifying games is CNY80,000 with the games starting in the latter half of August.
The 2018/2019 season is the third year of WESG since it was created by Alisports in 2016. This season kicked off in Malaysia at the end of June and beginning of July and the entire season can last 9 months.
Huya.com is one of the leading gaming and eSports streaming platforms in China and has been reported that the company paid hundreds of millions CNY to get the rights.
The two parties also plan to have other collaborations in the future, according to Alisports Head of Electronic Sports, Zhang Rui.
