On May 31, online media The Paper learned from the Beijing Major Projects Construction Headquarters Office that the overall construction plan of the Beijing 2022 venues and supporting infrastructure had been officially released with the schedule for all construction being settled.
According to the overall construction plan, there will be 52 construction projects in total consisting of the renovation of 8 venues, the building of 8 new venues, 2 temporary venues, 31 projects of basic infrastructure and 3 other supporting projects.
New competition venues in Beijing, such as the National Speed Skating Hall, Shougang Ski Jumping Center and Winter Sports Center Training Complex, the National Alpine Skiing Center and National Sledge Center in Yanqing are scheduled to be completed before June 2020. New non-competition venues such as the Beijing Olympic Village, Yanqing Olympic Village, Yanqing Mountain Media Center are expected to be finished in 2021. The renovated eight venues, including the China National Swimming Center, China National Stadium, Wukesong Sports Center, will be completed in 2020 and 2021.
According to the plan, 26 construction projects will be brought to life including the Yanqing Olympic Village.this year.
