On May 17, the SAIC Motor Corporation Limited was named senior official partner of the Chinese Super League (CSL), with the aim of seeking comprehensive cooperation opportunities in brand publicity, marketing and service promotions.
The CSL is one of the most commercially successful professional football leagues in the Asian market. SAIC is expected to use the strategic partnership as a way to grow brand image and influence in the football industry.
There were more than 1.79 million people attending the first 9 rounds of the 2018 CSL, with the number of attendees for each match reaching 24,900, making it 5th place among professional football leagues around the world. 590 CSL matches were broadcast on TV, reaching 88 million TV viewers.
In China, the new media platform, PPTV, will live broadcast all 240 CSL matches, with the number of views at 173 million.
At the same time, the league was also streamed in 96 countries and regions, covering more than 100 million household users.
Dong Zheng, General Manager of the CSL Company, is looking forward to their future cooperation, “We believe that under our common values and goals, the partnership will bring us into a long-standing, win-win situation.”
