Chinese water heater, kitchen appliances and hot water system manufacturer, Vanward announced a partnership deal with the Argentina Football Association on May 10, becoming the Official Sponsor of the Argentina Men’s Football Team.
The partnership is aimed at marketing the brand through taking advantage of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. On an official marketing poster of the partnership, it says that Vanward teams up with the Argentina team to compete in the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will kick off on June 14 in Russia.
Founded in 1993, Vanward is headquartered in Foshan, Guangdong Province and is listed on the A-shares market in China. According to its official company profile, its products are sold in 95 countries and regions around the world. It is also one of only two Chinese brands that were ranked among the global top 10 water heater brands as selected by the Building Services Research and Information Association (BSRIA).
The company said they specifically chose May 10 to announce the partnership because it celebrates China Brand Day. The President of Vanward, Lu Yucong, said that May 10 was chosen to announce the news as “ they hoped to show the world their determination to build a Chinese brand.”
Vanward is currently a sponsor of the 2018 edition of the well-known Chinese singing competition and entertainment show, Singer, which is produced by and aired on Hunan Satellite TV and also became the strategic partner of the China Space Foundation at the end of 2016.
Vanward’s deal with Argentina derives from their shared value of commitment to excellence. This is the first time for the Chinese brand to embrace sports marketing, which will help the brand grow its international image through football and sell more products and services to markets outside China.
Recently, the Argentina team’s rival, the Portuguese national football team, has signed Chinese financing company Leadercf as its official sponsor.
