Chinese peer-to-peer lending and financing company Leadercf has partnered with the Portuguese National Football Team, becoming the Official Chinese Sponsor of the team.
This is one of a few partnerships the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has signed with China as the 2018 FIFA World Cup draws closer.
The official Weibo account of FPF announced the news on April 25 and a number of websites in China reported the partnership.
Leadercf has developed a dedicated section on their website featuring the partnership and has organized a promotional campaign which lasts from May 8 to 15, giving away free World Cup tickets to its customers.
Leadercf, previously partnered with LaLiga team RCD Espanyol in August 2017. The CEO of Leadercf, Zhang Wensheng, says that since they partnered with RCD Espanyol, Leadercf has strongly felt the charm of “sporting spirit” and has had in-depth engagement with users through sports marketing. In the future, Leadercf hope to upgrade and develop more sports marketing activities.
Moreover, Zhang Wensheng said that the reason that Leadercf was interested in sports marketing was because the majority of their users were young people who like sports and work hard for a better life.
