The Premier League outfit, Arsenal FC, has signed a global agreement naming the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, BYD Auto, as the club’s official car and bus partner.
This deal marks Arsenal’s further efforts to embrace a greener future, following the club’s work to “power Emirates Stadium and all other Arsenal sites with 100% renewable energy.”
Under the agreement, BYD will be able to raise its global brand awareness through a series of marketing rights, such as pitchside LED signage, branding on dugout seats at Emirates Stadium, as well as special promotional events featuring Arsenal Legends in China.
In addition to this, the two sides are also expected to offer unique experiences for target customers and use social media channels to engage with Chinese fans.
Vinai Venkatesham, our chief commercial officer, said, “Arsenal is one of the most popular football clubs in China and we are looking forward to supporting the ambitious global growth plans of BYD and helping them engage with the millions of supporters we have in China and around the world.”
Sherry Li, BYD’s brand and public relations director, commented, “This partnership shows that BYD, Arsenal Football Club and its global fanbase believe in a greener future and the deal will help us build our name here in China and around the world.”
