According to the channel’s official WeChat account, on March 29, the IMFC Football Channel, became the first ever satellite TV channel to launch a channel reporting on ongoing process of Chinese football reform and development. From now on, this channel’s coverage will expand to the whole of China.

Currently, there are three programs featured on this channel, including a daily news program called Sports Headlines, a weekly review program, Football GOAL and an sports entertainment program featuring Chinese football celebrities’ stories, 绿茵之星 (literally translated Stars on the Football Pitches).

During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, a set of themed World Cup programs about this world-class tournament will be launched on the channel.

The IMFC Football Channel grew out of IMFC, a football-specialized channel owned by Inner Mongolia which launched in March 2016. In August 2017, the IMFC’s Football Channel was upgraded to national-level TV channel status.
