Kisakallio Sports Institute, Kisakallio Sports and Education (Shenzhen) Company Ltd and Harbin Sport University, signed a cooperation framework regarding exchange visits and co-establishing of education programs.

The three parties also reached a deal with Daqing Feixiang Snowboard Manufacturing Company Ltd to promote sports on Chinese campuses.

Kimmo Siira, Commercial Counselor Embassy of Finland to China and Zhang Fuyi, Director of the Harbin Sports Bureau unveiled plans for establishing a Harbin office for the Finland Winter Sports Center. The two cities, Rovaniemi and Harbin, are expected to be seeking more exchange and cooperation opportunities in 2019, the Year of China-Finland Winter Sports.

In recent years, China has been making efforts to grow winter sports in the world’s most populous country. Winter sports were seen as a priority in a Memorandum of Understanding both countries inked as early as 2010 on cultural, sport and education exchanges.

Finland, with rich experience in clean energy technology, pollution treatment and green development, will also provide technical support to China, as the country prepares to host a more green and environment-friendly event for 2022.
