Beijing is set to start all construction projects of venues and facilities for the 2022 Winter Olympic games, which are expected to be completed by the end of 2019, according to Zhang Jiandong, delegate to the National People's Congress (NPC), deputy mayor of Beijing city and executive vice-chairman of the Beijing 2022.
As Zhang said, the construction of all 26 venues in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou clusters will accelerate in 2018. Since they the competition venues began construction last year, they will begin on the renovation work and construction of non-competition venues like the Olympic Village.
