At the end of 2017, the provincial government of Zhejiang Province published a plan to support its fitness and recreational industry, with a goal of boosting the industry’s revenue to RMB 300bn by 2025.
To reach that goal, the provincial government hopes that there will be a fully finished fitness and recreational industry in Zhejiang, featuring world-class fitness and recreational activities and relevant equipment manufactures. Leveraging the internet to develop the industry has also been encouraged by the province.
Alongside equipment manufacturing, the province wants to enhance its sports service industries, covering fitness, sports coaching, spectator sports events and venue service. A group of companies, projects and events related to the fitness and recreational industry will also receive support from the province.
Regarding fitness and recreational projects support in Zhejiang Province, the province sees daily fitness activities, outdoor sports and sports tourism as its main priorities. Additionally, the province will encourage people to use exercise as a form of rehabilitation in some medical cases.
