The local sports governing bodies in Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei have signed a coordination framework agreement to grow the development of youth sports.
Under this agreement, the three areas will work closely to establish reserve camps during the summer and winter holidays, expand cooperation in competitive events and encourage talent selection across the three places.
The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions also have plans to set up ice-skating and skiing training centers, winter sports special schools, campus coach training projects and after-school winter sports centers.
In addition to this, the agreement suggests that area will take turns organizing a “youth sports carnival” every year. As part of the agreement, a skiing competition for kids in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei regions will take place at Yuyang International Ski Resort in Beijing on December 29.
According to China’s winter sports development plan, the total scale of the country’s winter sports industry will reach 1 trillion yuan (US$ 150.6 billion) by 2025.
