December 12: The Nanjing Radio and Television Group has signed a deal with the Jiangsu provincial sports governing body to finalize the sponsorship of Jiangsu men’s volleyball for the 2017-2018 season.
Under their deal, Nanjing Radio and Television Maomao Company Ltd., the new media subsidiary of the Group, will become the title sponsor of the local team, while Jiangsu-based Sports Development Company Ltd will also provide financial support for the team in the new season.
According to the terms of their deal, the team will be renamed as Jiangsu Nanjing Radio and Television Maomao Men’s Volleyball Club as they compete in the China Volleyball League (CVL).
”As the CVL has expanded from 12 teams to 14 teams, we are facing fiercer competition from our rivals as well as difficulties caused by the replacement of older players.” Said Lu Weizhong, head coach of the club. “So it’s really our honor to receive the generous support from Nanjing Radio and Television Maomao Company Ltd.”
Jiangsu was once sponsored by the real estate company Zhenro Group during the 2014-2015 and 2015-2016 seasons and played without a title sponsor last season.
