The organizing committee for the 2022 Winter Olympics has begun 38 projects including 5 competitive stadium facilities, according to a recent promotion conference for Pyeongchang 2018 and Beijing 2022.
The Zhangjiakou Cluster is about 160 km from Beijing and is located in Hebei Province. According to their schedule, the Hebei government will be responsible for the construction of 76 venues and supporting facilities.
Five projects were started in the year 2016 with the major infrastructure projects including the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway, Chongli Railway and Yanqing-Chongli Highway are expected to be completed by 2019.
As revealed in a planning blueprint around the event operation and local development, the Kuyangshu Cluster and Taizicheng Ice Sports Town have been named as landmark projects.
At the same time, the supporting services working on the Zhangjiakou Cluster also reported smooth progress. Heibei has completed task allocation for 49 items to ensure the sustainable development of local ecology, energy and post-event resources.
