November 29: Zhangjiakou, one of the host cities of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, will host two premier International Ski Federation (FIS) winter sports events in 2017/2018, including the FIS Freestyle Ski Aerial World Cup and the FIS Freestyle & Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup.

This will be the 14th consecutive year that the Freestyle Ski Aerial World Cup will be staged in China and will embrace its new season here from December 16 to 17, 2017. 70 athletes from 13 countries will gather in Zhangjiakou to take part in this event.

However, it is the first time the Freestyle & Snowboard Halfpipe World Cup has landed in China. From December 19 to 21, 2017, the event will be organized at the Genting Resort Secret Garden, one of the stadiums of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. 80 snowboarders will compete in this event representing 20 countries.

CITIC Guoan Group, one of the shareholders of CSL outfit Beijing Guoan, has become the title sponsor of the two events. Li Jianyi, Board Member of CITIC Guoan Group, stated that they hope to promote winter sports in China by stepping into this industry and sponsoring the two international winter sports events.

Based on the sports offshoot of the Group, Guoan Sports, the Group will assist in staging more winter sports events and promoting winter sports among the public, especially among teenagers in China.
