November 27, Hong Kong: Chinese refrigeration company MBO has signed a two-year deal with the New Zealand men's national basketball team, also known as the Tall Blacks, which will see the company become the title sponsor of the team for the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup.
On November 23, the MBO logo was displayed on the shirts of the Tall Blacks when they started their home game in Wellington.
The signing ceremony was attended by MBO President Yu Fangwen and David Huxford, 3X3 and the National Event Manager for Basketball New Zealand Inc.
Under the terms of their deal, the MBO will be able to launch co-branded commercial campaigns as well as display its logo on all Basketball New Zealand peripheral products including signature T-shirts, basketball suits and basketballs.
The MBO sees the deal as an important opportunity to increase its international presence. As Yu Fangwen said, “Our partnership with Basketball New Zealand can help us improve our international image since the 2019 FIBA Basketball World Cup will be hosted in China.”
