The government of Yanqing district, one of three host areas for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, has decided to use a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model through an open bidding.
The 30-year PPP project, expected to start from the end of this year, is estimated to be worth about 2.8 billion yuan.
As Zhang Yuan, executive deputy director of Yanqing said, there will be 25 stadiums ready for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou. In the core zone of Yanqing, there will be 2 competition stadiums which will hold the alpine skiing center and the snowmobile and sledding centers. There will also be 2 non-competition stadiums serving as the Olympic village and the media center.
According to media reports, the bidders should have strong credit records; general construction contracting qualifications; experience with investments, construction and operations in the ice sports industry and sports stadiums; and possess great capital strength and financing potential.
