October 24, Guangzhou: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC), together with the Chinese Football Association (CFA), has launched social responsibility events in Guangzhou of Guangdong Province.
The charity-focused events, held in Yanzigang Stadium, were supported by the Guangzhou Football Association, Titan Sports Media Group, Guangdong Disabled Persons’ Federation, Guangzhou Evergrande FC and Kelme China.
The project is a part of the AFC social responsibility business, which aims to help grassroots and disadvantaged groups with football. In accordance with practice, Guangzhou Evergrande has donated a portion of their ticket sales in the earlier AFC Champions League to ensure the events proceed smoothly.
50 local grassroots football coaches participated in 3 theory seminars and 1 practice clinic on Tuesday. Yanzigang Stadium is expected to host more events including a donation ceremony and a football carnival on October 25.
In August, the AFC and CFA also launched a series of social responsibility activities in Chengdu of Sichuan Province, including a visit to the SOS Children’s Village in the city.
