Renmin Sports, a sports media platform of People.cn, has become a strategic media partner of the Volvo Ocean Race in China.
Under their partnership, Renmin Sports will provide updates from every stage of the 2017/18 race including news about competing teams and match results. The platform will also provide fans in China with highlights about the race.
Earlier, the race has also announced a partnership with Chinese media outlets Tencent and Sina Sports.
The Volvo Ocean Race is an eight-month around-the-world sailing race that is considered one of the toughest sports competitions in the world. Seven teams have started their maritime marathon from Alicante, Spain on October 23.
According to the official website, the race is divided into sections or ‘legs’, stopping at twelve cities over the course of the race. It is said that the boats will visit Hong Kong on the expected date of January 20, 2018, for the first time in the event’s history.
Chinese-flagged Dongfeng Race Team, led by French skipper Charles Caudrelier, are competing in their second Volvo Ocean Race after finishing third place in the 2014/15 edition of the race.
