September 17: German soccer team Borussia Dortmund (BVB) joined a marketing activity organized by its newly signed German Product Partner Ofo at the IAA Cars 2017 in Frankfurt, Germany. The activity was attended by BVB stars André Schürrle and Sebastian Rode. BVB and the dockless bike-sharing company reached an agreement in July.
Ofo aims to increase its influences in the German market via this partnership. Under this new partnership, Ofo will soon launch newly designed bicycles near the Signal Iduna Park, BVB’s home stadium with a league capacity of 81,360 (standing and seated) and an international capacity of 65,829 (seated only). Furthermore, Ofo’s logo has featured on the billboard in the stadium in this season of Bundesliga matches.
This July, the company held a ceremony to welcome the German club with BVB players Christian Pulisic and Sokratis Papastathopoulos, taking a ride on the famous yellow bikes, Ofo’s flagship product, around the city of Guangzhou.
Founded in 2014 in Beijing, Ofo is a “dockless” bike-sharing service, which is said to have connected more than 6.5 million bikes in 150 cities across five countries, generated more than 25 million daily transactions and provided over 2 billion rides.
