The World Curling Federation (WCF) made a decision in its sixth World Curling Congress in Bled, Slovenia that it would carry out a new World Series of Curling from the 2018-2019 season.
Beijing will host a grand final and before that three legs will be held in another Chinese city, in Europe and in Americas respectively.
Chinese company Kingdomway Sports is a sponsor of the series. According to Inside the Games, they are going to invest more than $10 million (£7.3 million/€8.3 million) over a four-year period.
In June, Chinese Winter Sport Federation released a notice recruiting a business development operator for the series, according to Chinese WeChat media Bingxuetoutiao.
The 2017 World Curling Championships were held in Beijing in March and featured the participation of 12 countries.
