September 17: The SINA 5X5 Football League 2017 has officially kicked off in Tianjin. Originated from and operated by SINA Sports, this league has come to its second season which will last for five months starting from this September and running until January 2018.
With record-breaking figures including 1,800 teams participating and 2,000 matches to take place in 15 cities around China, this league is expected to become the largest five-a-side football league in China.
The final of this league will be held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province in January 2018. The former head coach of the China’s men’s national football team, Bora Milutinovic, will come to the final with a Futsal team from Qatar and give some advice to Chinese players who compete in the match.
In the new season, the league’s total bonus has reached RMB 400,000 (US$61,102) which has topped all the amateur five-a-side football leagues in China.
Meanwhile, players who perform well in the league will have opportunities to play and draft in overseas or domestic professional clubs, while the champions of the league will get a pathway to the China Futsal Super League and the China Futsal League Division A organized by the Chinese Football Association.
